Tell New York legislators: Protect tropical and boreal forests

In the last decade, we've lost 10% of our planet's tree cover. Much of the destruction occurs in tropical and boreal forests to produce goods that are imported into the United States, such as paper, lumber, palm oil, beef and soy. As a result, New York State inadvertently contributes to deforestation and forest degradation. But right now, there's a bill in our state legislature that could change that.

The New York Deforestation-Free Procurement Act (S.5921/A.6872) would ensure that New York State government procurement dollars are not driving forest loss in tropical and boreal forests. Send a message to your state legislators telling them to co-sponsor and pass this important protection for forests around the world.
