Protect our waters and wildlife from waste

Polystyrene foam -- what most of us call Styrofoam -- can spell disaster for the environment. We only use it for minutes before throwing it away, but those foam coffee cups and takeout containers will take hundreds of years to disappear.

We know that New York can be a leader on confronting the worst forms of plastic pollution. New York City has already banned single-use polystyrene containers, set to take effect in January -- now we need the state to follow their lead.
